It is hard to grow up in the Pacific Northwest and not be drawn to the landscape, especially the mountains and hills (often an eroded mountain; it is all relative).

I grew up in Oregon; my husband was born and raised in Idaho. Washington is our “compromise state” and we visit the mountains often.

Other Countries

I rarely paint when I am traveling overseas. But the first two paintings were done shortly after a return from New Zealand (while living in Laos). The last ones are Island hills in Croatia, which I painted on board our ship during a biking and Island tour with friends. One day they biked and I stayed on the boat and painted the Islands and caught up with them several hours later.
